 The Weather Observer's Mail list is dedicated to amateur weather observers who want to "share" their observations with others over the Internet!

 The WXOBS-SNE list serves Eastern New York, and all of New England and is run by Todd Gross

 This mail list crosses all online boundaries, and can be accessed directly in your email box over the net, or on Compuserve, Aol, Delphi, Prodigy, Genie, etc. It is like a little weather "club" that you are an important member of! 

To subscribe to the mail list to see how it works (and get more info:) write EMAIL to:

 WXOBS-SNE-DIGEST-REQUEST@SHORE.NET (for the "digest" version, not real-time but less cluttering)

 or

 WXOBS-SNE-REQUEST@SHORE.NET (for the "non-digest", real time version)

 and in the main body of the message.. write

 SUBSCRIBE

 write to that SAME address to unsubscribe..

 

A typical observation may look like this in the subject line of an EMAIL:

 OBS Weston, Ma. 050600 OVC S+BS 31F R:.95 S:10.1 G:9"

 The above reads, Weston, Ma. on the 5th of the month, Heavy snow and blowing snow... .95" of melted precip., 10.1" of snow (in the past 24 hours), and 9" of snow left on the ground..

 while this is all in the subject line.. more info. is included in the body of the forecast..
